CarbonEdge is pleased to advise subscribers that eminent US energy expert, Fereidoon P. Sioshansi has joined the CarbonEdge team as North American correspondent.
Perry Sioshansi is President of Menlo Energy Economics, publisher of the subscription only EEnergy Informer. His most recent book is 'Generating Electricity in a Carbon Constrained World.'
As Perry stated in a recent article, "My personal insight - andImust emphasize that this is not necessarily shared by the contributors to the book - is that while a lot can, and should, be done on the electricity generation side, in all likelihood, these efforts will not be sufficient. If the goal is to limit concentration of carbon in the atmosphere to, say, 450-550 parts per million by 2050, as many scientists have suggested, I am now convinced that we must work equally hard on the demand side, and that effort should not be limited to improving the efficiency with which electricity - or energy - is used but on altering the nature of the way we work and ultimately examining our values and lifestyles."
Look forward to Perry's insights in CarbonEdge and expect to see him join us in Australia for a CarbonEdge Seminar in 2010.
As a regular visitor to Australia, CarbonEdge anticipates that Perry's insights into US policy and developments will be delievered in an accessible and informative manner.
CarbonEdge expects to make an announcement in coming days about an exclusive CarbonEdge subscriber only opportunity to access EEnergy Informer at a heavily discounted first year rate.
